After taking unofficial visits to LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, DeSoto (Texas) High standout Laviska Shenault does not have any other trips planned.

“I will make my decision soon,” said the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Shenault, who is currently ranked among the nation's top 170 prospects from the Class of 2017. “I don't know exactly when, but I know I'll decide soon.”

Shenault said recruiting has been equally "exciting and stressful." He liked his trips to Alabama and Oklahoma State, but a visit to the Centennial State opened his eyes.

“My visit to Colorado was really exciting,” Shenault said. “I liked the surroundings and was really impressed with their facilities. They have a good Engineering school, too.”

He has been keeping in contact with CU co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach Darrin Chiaverini and offensive graduate assistant Patrick Williams, who went to DeSoto High before enjoying success during his college career as a receiver for the Buffaloes.

“They have done a good job of having me picture myself in a Colorado uniform,” Shenault said.

What will be the determining factor in his upcoming college decision?

“The coaches and how they continue to talk to me, and things like that,” he said.

Shenault prides himself on his ability to get in-and-out of his breaks. He has shown his versatility at the prep level by playing outside receiver, slot receiver, tight end and H-back for DeSoto. He averaged more than 17 yards per reception during his junior season.
