CU's commit list continues to grow

While in Boulder last weekend on an unofficial visit, Chris Miller hinted that he might soon join the Buffaloes' commitment list. And he did just that on Wednesday morning:

Miller is a three-star prospect from Denton (Texas) High, an area in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex that is known for producing top talent every recruiting cycle.

"I love the area and the coaches and the players and just the vibe at Colorado," Miller told BuffStampede.com after announcing his commitment. "And all the commits they have were a big part of it, too. When they landed Tyler Lytle last night, I realized their recruiting has continued to blow up. It definitely caught my eye. ... When I committed they were happy. [Head] coach [Mike] Mac[Intyre] said, 'It's time to throw a party!'"

All eight of the Buffaloes' prep commitments this cycle are rated three or four stars.

"It started with Jon [Van Diest] and Dante [Sparaco], and they got Jaylon [Jackson], Laviska [Shenault] and Alex [Fontenot] from Texas. We're all pretty excited," Miller said. "We have a group chat and we kind of clicked and bonded. We are going to be bringing in a lot of talent together so we feel like we can help turn things around."

Cornerbacks coach Charles Clark was the primary recruiter for Miller from the Buffs' staff, and he said he has also heard a lot from co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Darrin Chiaverini and defensive graduate assistant Corey Edsall.

The 6-foot-0, 175-pound Miller chose Colorado over other offers from Missouri, Kansas, Boise State, Houston, Iowa and seven other FBS programs. He was recruited by the Buffaloes to play cornerback, and could also potentially factor in as a return man.

"I'll add some speed, some diversity and some cover skills there to Colorado," he said.

Miller earned first-team all-district honors on both sides of the ball as a junior, and at the regional track meet this spring, he ran the 100-meter dash in 10.72-seconds.
