When Chevin Calloway left to take an unofficial visit to Colorado last weekend, he did not know what to expect. The four-star cornerback prospect from Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne did not even know he had an offer from the Buffs. He took the trip out to Boulder with his teammate, defensive tackle Damion Daniels, who has 22 reported offers.

"I came to find out Colorado had offered me a while back but I had no idea," Calloway recapped. "It was a great vibe there, I liked it. The coaches have a good relationship with the players. I like how [head] coach [Mike] Mac[Intyre] is big on developing the person, as well as the player. It was really nice out there. It really shocked me.

"The scenery, what the program is trying to do, and how they are trying to turn things around, it was a good experience. The coaching staff was cool and they have a lot of knowledge of the game at my position in the secondary with Coach Mac being a [former] secondary coach in the NFL. It opened up my eyes a lot and made me look at them differently. I am definitely looking at them now, and I definitely liked the trip."

Calloway has too many offers to list. He has also visited Oklahoma and Baylor this spring, and in the coming weeks and months, he plans to check out Texas A&M, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan and Ole Miss. A trip to Alabama this summer is also a possibility.

“Those are pretty much the schools that have been hitting me up the most,” Calloway said. “Other schools have been hitting me up as well, so I might take some other visits. I don't have a top five yet, but after my visits I will be able to narrow my list. I may make my commitment before the season starts. If not, I'll just make it after my official visits.”

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Calloway is currently ranked among the nation's top 10 cornerback recruits and the top 85 prospects regardless of position. He was named first-team all-district and honorable mention all-state as a junior.

“Most colleges have said they like that I am physical,” Calloway said. “I am willing to come up and hit. I press receivers and jam them well. One thing they say they want to see me do more of is checking the ball and using my eyes. They see I have the physical part down and now they want to see me go and get the ball. I am working on that."
