Shortly after announcing his decision to commit to Colorado, four-star receiver prospect Jaylon Jackson, from Cedar Hill (Texas) High, talked with BuffStampede.com:

Walk me through your college decision... what sold you on picking Colorado?

Jaylon Jackson: "The coaching staff, they are really down to earth. I knew I wanted to commit when I sat down and ate with [co-offensive coordinator and receivers] coach [Darrin] Chiaverini. We were just talking and he is just so down to earth. A lot of coaches aren't like that. I felt like this was going to be the place for me. I love the facilities and I got to see the offense that we're going to run, and I liked it a lot, so I think this is going to be a great fit for me. And my parents are out here, and they liked it as well. I think that made it pretty easy. I feel wanted here. These guys are going to make something happen and I like what they're saying. I like what we're about to put together."

Is it more a sense of relief or a feeling of excitement to have your decision made?

"It is a combination of both. I am relieved and excited at the same time. Being part of a new family in Boulder, I am looking forward to going there and putting on for that city."

You mentioned the Buffs' offense... how do the Colorado coaches see you fitting in?

"Coach Chiaverini is bringing a lot of good things in with the air raid offense. We're going to pass the ball a lot. I like that a lot. I think I'll bring a lot of speed and precise route running. They feel I can come in there and make some plays for their program."

You missed the 2015 season with a torn ACL, but it appears you are fully recovered?

"Yeah. I have been in track for about a month now. I have been dropping my times. At the first track meet I ran a 10.8 [in the 100-meter dash] and recently I ran a 10.55, so I feel great. I got my legs back under me. It is always great to have your speed back. I never ran a 10.55 before so that was my fastest time ever. I feel stronger now than ever."

What is your current height and weight?

"5-foot-10, 173-pounds"

I noticed you have been tweeting back-and-forth with Jonathan Van Diest, who is also committed to Colorado. Did he work hard to help convince you to pick the Buffaloes?

"Big Jon? I looked at his tape and I really liked it. We started conversing with each other, just linked up. It wasn't like, 'Oh man, you need to come to Boulder.' It just happened."

Do you know what you want to study in college?

"I want to be a Sports Broadcaster, so I'll be studying Communications and Journalism."
